4th door of the Advent calendar

A short story: A new pastor moved to an island in the far north of Germany. He had no objection to coffee but he railed against alcohol.

The host served coffee at a party, but it didn’t create a festive mood among the guests, so he secretly added rum, carefully skipping the pastor's coffee, of course.

To hide tell-tale aromas, a thick cap of whipped cream was placed on top of the coffee. The mood improved noticeably.

When the pastor's cup was mixed up, the fraud was discovered and the man of God insulted the master of the house as a hypocrite and a Pharisee.

Ingredients for 1 cup:

  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 liquor glass of rum
  • ¾ Cup of hot, strong coffee
  • Whipped cream

Mix the sugar, cocoa and rum in a warmed cup.

Then pour in the hot coffee and cover with plenty of whipped cream.
