22nd door of the Advent calendar
Ingredients for 6 cups:
- 750 ml dry red wine
- thinly peeled rind of half an organic lemon
- 80 grams of sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 10 cloves
- freshly squeezed juice from two oranges
- 125 ml orange liqueur
Put all ingredients except for the liqueur in a saucepan and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
Cover and let heat slowly over a low heat until the wine has small foam islands on the surface.
Cover and let the mulled wine simmer for 15 minutes.
Pour in the liqueur, turn off the heat, and let everything stand for 3-5 minutes.
Pour the mulled wine into cups through a fine sieve while still hot and enjoy immediately.
Preparation for 8 cups:
Put 750 ml of freshly brewed red fruit tea with 750 ml of red currant nectar and 250 ml of freshly squeezed orange juice in a saucepan.
Add 1 cinnamon stick, 2 cloves and 2 tablespoons of honey. Bring everything to the boil and simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Fish out the cinnamon stick and cloves and serve immediately.
