75 years of the UN –the future we want, the United Nations we need

Federal Foreign Office, Federal Republic of Germany

Did you know that the Federal Republic of Germany is one of the UN’s current 193 member states and hosts over 30 UN organisations, above all in Bonn?

In fact, Germany is involved in a large number of UN agencies and organisations and provides troops to UN peace missions. It is also the fourth-largest contributor to the regular UN budget after the US, China and Japan. Furthermore, Germany has been an elected member of the UN Security Council for the sixth time.

Please find out more about the UN and Germany's special engagement in the UN by visiting the virtual exhibition of the “Auswärtiges Amt” (Federal Foreign Office) based in Berlin, which honours the 75th anniversary of the signing of the Charter of the UN.
